"JUNE 2023"

Phuket. We’re back again to one of Thailand’s most popular islands. And this time we will be experiencing fun activities with friends. This will be my 3rd time in Phuket and each time, it’s always a different experience. There’s always new things to discover on this lovely place.

We’ve got 3 days to explore Phuket and most of them are tour guided booked from Klook.

Very handy when planning your travel itineraries.

So let’s go on a little Phuket Exploration!

Let’s get into it!

Transfer from the Airport — Hotel — Airport

So one thing that will make things convenient for you when you travel to a new country/city is to book Airport to Hotel transfers. So on our first day we booked a private transportation from Airport to Hotel and another transportation on our last day, and this is through Klook website.

Hotel Accommodation

Location: The Blue Pearl Kata Hotel

Address:100/86-90 Kata Road, Karon, Muang, Phuket 83100, 83100 Kata Beach, Thailand

I think we were pretty lucky that we booked this hotel because we managed to get a family room with connecting doors. So it became a huge room when combined. Another huge plus is that right across the street is the Kata Walk Night Market, so you can easily go downstairs and grab the some food on-the-go. Not only that, it’s nearby cafes and convenient stores.

It’s very convenient.

In overall, the experience in the hotel from the check-in to the room amenities are great. But I wasn’t sure if there’s a swimming pool in here but that’s fine for us because we didn’t really have time to swim with all our activities packed so close together.

This is a great place to stay at because of its location.

BOOK SIMON CABARET SHOW PHUKET TODAY

For our first activity in Phuket is to watch Simon Cabaret Show. It’s a very popular theatrical show with dancers in beautiful shiny dresses and headgears. It’s like a broadway show filled with dancing from different countries while some with typical love triangle story.

Comparing from the last time that I watched the show, they seemed to add a few ‘spices’ into the show. You just have to watch it – to find out what I mean. Lol. Also, after the show the casts will line up outside to take pictures with them and in return, you can give tips for their performances.

This show is really worth a watch!

Day 1 | Dinner

Kata Walking Street Night Market

Location: Kata Walking Street Night Market

Address:เมือง Patak Rd, Tambon Karon, Mueang Phuket District, Phuket 83100, Thailand

About: Outdoor marketplace providing food stands, fruits, vegetables, seafood & a bar with cocktails

This night market is directly across the street. We were very happy because it’s very convenient for us. There are wide selection of food from local Thai food to Japanese to Western. Fried to grilled as well. As for us on our first night, we went for Thai and Western food.

  • Pad Thai Noodle
  • Tom Yam Noodle
  • Grilled Baked Potato
  • Grilled Ribs
  • Fresh Watermelon Smoothie

Have a blast on your food trip!

Day 2 | Morning to Afternoon

Island Hopping

Our very first activity on our 2nd day is island hopping. We booked it through Klook, see the below link. I’ve tried this island hopping from my last trip to Phuket and from my experience, it was a great trip with Yacht Master.

That’s why we came back for another round of island hopping.

Also, in the package, a light breakfast is included before they start with the briefing. So you don’t have to worry about that. Once the briefing is done, you will then be led to your designated yacht. Their yachts are pretty clean and modern. So that’s a plus point.

Ko Phi Phi

Location: Ko Phi Phi

The first stop we did was Ko Phi Phi where we could take photos/videos of the beautiful boats. You can rent a boat for yourself or in groups as well. You can stand at the front of the yacht and take in the beautiful scenery.

Swimming & Snorkeling

After the first stop, we went to another spot where we could swim for a while and then moved to another spot where there was clearer water. Perfect for snorkeling.

It’s such a picturesque scenery all around.

Viking Cave

Location: Viking Cave

Moving forward, we drove past the Viking cave. Unfortunately, visitors are not allowed inside the cave but the yacht slows down for a good glimpse of the exterior. It was said that it’s a good source of Chinese specialty bird’s nest soup.

So prepare your camera fast before you drove past it.

Monkey Island

Location: Monkey Island

We didn’t get into the island which was unfortunate. But we did stop for a few minutes to catch a glimpse of monkeys chilling by the trees or by the side of the cliffs.

Can you spot the monkey?

Clue: It’s among the branches.

Lunch Buffet

Finally, it was time for lunch. We stopped at an island where there’s a huge hall with lined buffet. Ranging from Thai to Western food. So for my lunch, I took Tom Yam Soup, Green curry chicken and rice. With a side of fried chicken wing and Watermelon for dessert.

Eventhough, the food selections are very limited but it was a decent enough to fill the tummy.

Maya Bay

Location: Maya Bay

This place is beautiful with its crystal clear water, high-rising cliffs, and white sand beach. It got so popular after its appearance in Leonardo Di Caprio’s movie, The Beach.

Since they’re preserving the area, visitors are not allowed to swim into the water. Only just by the shoreline to take photos. We walked further in where there is less crowd and took some photos and videos. It’s good to get some good angle shots.

Koh Khai Nok

Location: Koh Khai Nok

Our last stop is where can chill at a longer time. You can choose to swim by the beach or grab some snacks by the wide array of food stalls around. So we decided to grab fries, fruits and drinks and relax by the table. After all the places and things we did, we were pretty exhausted.

Day 2 | Dinner

The Sundeck

Location: The Sundeck

Address: 228 Koktanod Rd, Karon, Mueang Phuket District, Phuket 83000, Thailand

After a tiring and long day, we head out for dinner at The Sundeck. The plan was to go here at sunset because of its overlooking of the water. However, we didn’t make it to sunset but that’s okay. We still enjoyed our meal and the cool breeze, despite, it started to drizzle a little.

TIP: Visit this restaurant at sunset.

Day 3 | Morning

Old Phuket Town

Location: Old Phuket Town

Address: Mueang Phuket District, Phuket 83000, Thailand

About: Lively Phuket Old Town is known for brightly painted, century-old Sino-Portuguese townhouses, with a well-preserved row along Soi Rommanee.

It was a rainy Saturday morning, fortunately, the rain slowed down little after 9am and we still managed to visit the Old Phuket Town. It would have been lovely if its a sunny day. Nonetheless, I’m amazed by the colourful townhouses. The brightly coloured murals and the houses’ articulated designs. This place reminds me of Singapore’s Haji Lane or Joo Chiat and Katong or Chinatown.

Hand Matcha & Croissant Cafe

Location: Hand Matcha & Croissant

Address: 32 Soi Rommani, Talat Yai, Mueang, Phuket 83000, Thailand

We found a nice and quaint cafe where we enjoyed delicious croissant and some hot beverage. We’re finally full for breakfast before we head out again to do a little shopping around for souvenirs.

Hog's Head Pub (Harry Potter Theme)

Location: Hog’s Head Pub

Address: 27 Yaowarad Rd, Talad Yai Muang Phuket 83000, Thailand

This pub/cafe is a really cool one. If you’re a Harry Potter fan then you’ll love this place. It gave off the Harry Potter theme with their interior design. It’s incredible. The lighting inside can be a little too dark, if I’m being honest but I guess that’s really part of the experience. The food were also good – we got some Thai food and Thai milk tea.

All Potter heads out there, visit this place!

Day 3 | AFternoon

Paradise Trip ATV & Zipline Adventure

Location: Paradise Trip ATV and Zipline Adventure

Address: Chalong, Mueang Phuket District, Phuket 83000, Thailand

Later in the afternoon, we got picked up from our hotel for our Zipline and ATV adventure. It was incredibly fun and exciting. I surely hope you’re not afraid of heights cause it can get really high. The excitement is surreal with both zipline and ATV. Once we’re all done, we were send back to the hotel.

You should book your own zipline and ATV experience now!

Kata Beach

Location: Kata Beach

At the end of the afternoon, we decided to explore and see Kata Beach. We didn’t really spend much time here along with our tours. But at least we get to visit it, even for a short while. It’s a good weather as well. Not too hot, tho it was pretty cloudy. You’ll see many people sunbathing under the sun, swimming in the water or simply having a stroll by the beach.

Sadly, this will be our last night in Phuket and we’re heading back home tomorrow morning.

Kata Walking Street Night Market

Location: Kata Walking Street Night Market

Address:เมือง Patak Rd, Tambon Karon, Mueang Phuket District, Phuket 83100, Thailand

On our last dinner for the trip, we went back to the Night Market to enjoy more of the local and western dishes. Also, they have a live band. So you can enjoy the music while you’re eating and chatting.

It was such a vibe.

Day 4 | Going Home Day

By the morning, we were picked up by the driver that we booked from Klook. It was such a breeze because you’ll just have to wait by the lobby after checking out, and wait for your driver to arrive. This trip to Phuket was a great fun. Most of the activities we’ve done were fun and unique. I like, most especially, the Old Phuket Town because I’ve not been there. I was astounded by the Hog’s Head Pub at how detailed and amazing their interior is.

You should definitely visit that one day!

Phuket has definitely more things to offer and I would love to go back again whenever, I can. I hope you’ll get some ideas on places to visit in Phuket. You will enjoy your time here for sure – submerging with the culture, food and the people.

So where would you go to explore next?
