Changi. What would you think when people say they’re going to Changi?
Probably, you’ll think they’re going to Changi Airport to escape this tiny island.
Don’t forget your passport!
I would have thought the same thing too! But nah, this time around I’m more curious than ever on what are the things you can do or see around Changi. I was googling online on what are the things you can do around Singapore for free.
Yeah, yeah, we cheapskate.

This is where I stumble upon this humongous hand protruding out of the ground. No joke. You’ll see it in a second. So I got curious.
Is this really in Singapore? How come I never heard about it before?
That’s when I went on a rabbit hole of things that you can explore in Changi. And so, this is the start of our new exploration around Singapore.
So let’s go on a little Changi Exploration!
Let’s get into it!
Dining Experience
The Coastal Settlement
What: The Coastal Settlement
Location/Address: 200 Netheravon Road, Singapore 508529
About: This restaurant is a casual dining restaurant, cafe and bar where you’re surrounded by lush greeneries but what makes this place even more unique is their interior design. It’s literally a museum filled with retro memorabilia, paintings, vintage vehicles like vespas right behind the counter, a display field with old vintage phones or toys and even antique furnitures. While their menu offers a wide variety of western and local selections.
The main thing that attracted me to visit this place is their antique interior and collections. I was fascinated by the first look. I just knew I have to visit it no matter how far away I am (Woodlands. LOL!). So those of you who loves vintage or retro style restaurant or just wanna see how pretty cool this place is. Go take a visit!
I think the long travel is still worth it.
Place of Interests
Former Changi Hospital
What: Former Changi Hospital
Location/Address: 24 Halton Road, Singapore 506997
About: This old abandoned hospital located in Changi, Singapore. It starts seizing its operations in February 1997 until it was completely abandoned in December 1997. And up to this day, it remains abandoned and off limits to the public. It was first built by the British government in 1935 to assist during the world war. In which by the 2000s, it was soon badly damaged by vandalism, criminals and even satanists (say what?!) In which, of course, led to many speculators believing that this dilapidated hospital is one of the most haunted places in Singapore.
That didn’t stop from many locals trying to get inside and explore to finding Ms P. waiting for them. But in the end of the day, this is a huge piece of history.
Would you dare to visit this place at night?
